PRO/PEER Publishing Model
Bridging the gap between traditional publishing and self-
Pro/Peer Publishing involves sending a manuscript to a commission of editors, English
scholars, and other experts (Professionals), and to selected readers and writers
(Peers). Each commissioner reads the manuscript and completes an evaluation. The

Accepted manuscripts enter the Blue Throne editorial pipeline and are published. The results of the evaluation process are public, and will be offered for viewing on this web site. This ensures that the readers know that Blue Throne is publishing quality fiction, not merely pursuing a “follow the market” strategy.
The first title published by Blue Throne Books is Blue Earth, by Jeff Stover. For
this project, Pro/Peer publishing was in its infancy and nascent in form. Nevertheless,
the manuscript underwent a qualification process akin to traditional acquisitions,
and though Jeff is a member of the company, he had no say in whether or not the book
was approved for publishing. The result was a quality first-
