an accomplished
novel, well laid out
with very strong

it was somewhat of

PRO/PEER Publishing Model

Bridging the gap between traditional publishing and self-publishing, Blue Throne offers a unique model that allows authors to control their content to the extent they desire, while also holding them to the highest standards of literary skill and quality of storytelling.

Pro/Peer Publishing involves sending a manuscript to a commission of editors, English scholars, and other experts (Professionals), and to selected readers and writers (Peers). Each commissioner reads the manuscript and completes an evaluation.  The in-depth evaluation system either approves or rejects the manuscript for publication.  Hence, the book is Pro/Peer approved.

Accepted manuscripts enter the Blue Throne editorial pipeline and are published.  The results of the evaluation process are public, and will be offered for viewing on this web site. This ensures that the readers know that Blue Throne is publishing quality fiction, not merely pursuing a “follow the market” strategy.

The first title published by Blue Throne Books is Blue Earth, by Jeff Stover.  For this project, Pro/Peer publishing was in its infancy and nascent in form.  Nevertheless, the manuscript underwent a qualification process akin to traditional acquisitions, and though Jeff is a member of the company, he had no say in whether or not the book was approved for publishing.  The result was a quality first-effort, both for Blue Throne and for Jeff.
